Tailoring
In-House Alterations & Tailoring
Alterations happen at the store, by our own people. Hems, sleeves, waist, taper, jacket adjustments — on something you bought from us, rented from us, or brought in from somewhere else entirely.
Walk-ins welcome — no appointment needed for anything we do in store.
What you get
What to expect
Done at the store
Not shipped to a vendor. That is the whole reason we can turn something around before a date instead of hoping.
The usual work
Trouser hems and taper, sleeve length, waist, jacket body and shoulders where the garment allows it.
Garments from anywhere
It does not have to be ours. Bring in a suit you already own and we will look at it.
Quoted before it is cut
You hear the price and the timeline before anyone picks up a needle.
Walk-ins welcome
No appointment for anything we do in store — browsing, measuring, a fitting or pickup. Call ahead only if you want a stylist held for a big group.
Bring your shoes
A hem measured over the wrong shoes is a hem done twice. Bring the pair you will actually wear.

How it works
4 steps, start to finish
Bring it in
Walk in with the garment and the shoes you will wear with it. No appointment needed.
Get pinned
We fit it on you and mark the work. This is the part that decides whether it looks right.
Hear the price and the date
Quoted before anything is cut, with a real pickup date.
Pick it up
Try it on again before you leave. If something is not right, we fix it.
Common questions
Everything you’re wondering
Do you alter clothes I did not buy from you?
Yes. Bring in a suit from anywhere and we will look at it and tell you honestly what can and cannot be done with it.
How long do alterations take?
It depends on the work and the time of year — a hem is not a rebuilt jacket, and ball season is not July. The store gives you a date when you drop it off.
How much do alterations cost?
It depends on the work. You get a quote before anything is cut, at the counter, not after the fact.
Can you alter a suit before a wedding this week?
Often, because the work is done at the store rather than sent away. Call the store closest to you and ask instead of assuming there is no time.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in with the garment and your shoes.
